Toyota Australia Recalls Supra Vehicle Due to Automatic Transmission Control Computer

Toyota Australia has today announced that it will initiate a safety recall of 1 Supra vehicle produced on 01 February 2023.

Supra vehicles are equipped with an automatic transmission that includes a control computer. Due to an improper manufacturing process, the case joint welding may be defective. This possible defective welding may allow transmission fluid to penetrate the control computer resulting in a short circuit, which in the worst case the vehicle may lose drive power while driving.

There is only one involved vehicle in the Australian market that is presently registered to a Toyota dealer. Toyota Australia will work with this Toyota dealer to arrange rectification of this vehicle.

Customers with additional questions or concerns are asked to please contact their local/preferred Toyota Dealer in the first instance or the Toyota Recall Campaign Helpline on 1800 987 366 (Mon-Fri 8.00am-6.00pm AEDT). Customers should quote their 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
